This Privacy Policy explains how Get Your Glow (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use getyourglow.app (“the Service”). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who We Are
Get Your Glow is the data controller for information collected when you use our website and platform. Contact us at hello@getyourglow.app with any data-related queries.
Note for salon customers:When you book an appointment through a salon's booking page, the salon (Shop) is the data controller for your booking information. Please contact the salon directly regarding their own data practices.
2. Data We Collect
Account holders (shop owners & technicians)
- Email address — used for sign-in (magic link), account notifications, and billing.
- Name — displayed on your profile and booking pages.
- Billing information — handled by Stripe; we do not store payment card data.
- Shop details — name, address, phone, logo, and service information you provide.
- Usage data — pages visited, actions taken within the platform, to improve the Service.
Customers making bookings
- Email address — used to send booking confirmations and reminders.
- Name & phone number — provided optionally at the time of booking.
- Booking history — services booked, dates, and status.
Website visitors
- Cookies and analytics — with your consent, we use Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to understand how the site is used. See Section 6 below.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the Service (contractual necessity).
- To process payments and manage subscriptions (contractual necessity).
- To send transactional emails such as booking confirmations and sign-in links (contractual necessity / legitimate interest).
- To improve the Service through aggregated analytics (legitimate interest).
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data Sharing
We share data with the following categories of third parties where necessary:
- Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Google Analytics — website analytics (consent-gated).
- Meta — advertising measurement (consent-gated).
- Infrastructure providers — hosting and database services. All data is stored in the EEA.
5. Data Retention
- Active account data is retained for as long as your account is open.
- After account deletion, data is held for 30 days then permanently deleted.
- Billing records are retained for 7 years for legal and tax compliance.
- Website analytics data is retained for 26 months.
6. Cookies
We use the following categories of cookies:
- Essential cookies — required for the Service to function (session management, security). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic and usage patterns. Only set with your consent.
- Advertising cookies — Meta Pixel for measuring advertising effectiveness. Only set with your consent.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie icon in the footer or clearing your browser storage.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Restriction — ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise any right, email hello@getyourglow.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed authentication tokens, and access controls. No system is completely secure; please use strong credentials and notify us immediately of any suspected breach.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
